Ingredients in diet

For the understanding of the muscle building diets we have to fully grasp the principles of the diet, once we understand the principle of diet we would be able to apply them easily. There are five basic food groups require for the body.

• Carbohydrates
• Fats
• Proteins
• Vitamins
• Minerals

The first three (Carbohydrates, fats, proteins) gives us energy. Proteins also provide amino acids, the building blocks of the body. Vitamins and minerals are essential for the efficient maintenance of the body functions (like the chemical reactions) but Vitamins and minerals don’t provide energy.
